I am typing this up after having the first tray out:
Princess Cupcake has been requesting oatmeal cookies. This is Aristocrafty’s Oatmeal Cookies recipe I had pinned some time ago. They look good, yeah? Good sized cookies from using the William-Sonoma 1 3/4″ scoop. Yes, there are chocolate chips in them. The recipe calls for a whole package of chips. I thought that might be a bit much so I just used up what I had left in two bags of Trader Joe ones, about a cup. Currently, they’re being taste-tested by us and this recipe gets the thumbs up from our crew!
My schedule has been loaded with school activities since August:
1. Parent Meet & Greet
2. Two, back-to-school nights
3. PIcture Day (earned those free packages)
4. Fall General Spring Meeting last Thursday evening
5. this special field trip:
The city’s principals of public and private schools, along with their PTA Presidents, in our school’s particular district were invited to have a tour of the Exploratorium by Supervisor Tang. The Exploratorium used to be located by the Palace of Fine Arts but after its lease was up, it moved to Pier 15. It is a place of hands on exploration for kids and adults. All exhibits are man made and cover all the sciences. It’s really gorgeous inside. Some of the old exhibits are in there while lots of new ones have been added.
I had raised my hand to participate in the above exhibit. I had sat down upon a stool and bent low enough to stare at the top of a cup filled with water. A principal pushed a button that released a drop of water. A high speed camera caught this on the second try. Cool, huh?!
When we were walking to another exhibit, I saw a wall of squares and lookie what I spotted:
I have over 30 rounds for the leg of sock #2 of Shells on the Beach:
I was working on this this past Friday in the school office, just hangin’ out, and it caught many of the school staff’s eye! They were impressed ^^.
Before I take off to check on the baking, I flash this pic of my 9 month old niece who visited us for dinner yesterday:
The last time we had seen her mid-August, she was wobbly sitting up and had no teeth. Now she has four chompers in the front, can move from her tummy position to sitting up well, likes to stand already, and is wearing 12 months clothing! Her baby eczema cleared up on those chubby cheeks and boy does she love what we call beng beng, or crackers. These are the ones that melt in a baby’s mouth after it’s been bitten and these were banana flavored.
Every time she fussed I would pick her up and walk her around our place. I loved how she would have little hand on my shoulder and the other gripping my neckline. I definitely got my baby fix!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
